Family and friends that come along to support on the day will be able to keep track of the participants from the various viewing points reserved for spectators. One such vantage spot is the beautiful bridge in Kells, Co. Kilkenny, that spans over the King’s river and surrounding farmland, which hosts many of our obstacles.
Imagine the atmosphere for competitiors and spectators alike with the relocation of the finish line to the mill, which will be a hive of activity on the day with music and a variety of stalls.
This year Reign of Terror welcomes the spectacular group Deise Medieval to our event. Step back in time to Ireland’s Ancient East and get the chance to enjoy the exhilaration of front line combat as the warriors lead you through a live battle reenactment. Meet and engage with the characters who bring to life the crafts and skills of medieval times. Spectators and participants will be entertained by this talented group so make sure and bring your family along to enjoy this wonderful experience.
Also watch out for our knights on horseback who will be defending the fortress of Kells on the day.
The Mill at the finish line will have a variety of light bites on offer from a curry stall, Barbecue food to an array of sweet treats in the coffee shop. The local shop ‘Bobs’ is also on hand for all your snacking needs.
The whole family can enjoy a well deserved rest and beverage in your choice of two public houses in the village, The Motte and Bailey and Shirleys, which will also be serving pizza on the day. Our competitors will also enjoy a complimentary bowl of soup and a roll.
2017 sees the introduction of a Mini Terrors wave that caters specifically for children aged 13 and over. This age group can now experience all that our Reign of Terror course has to offer.
Now the kids can be there, do that and buy the t-shirt (actually anyone can buy one as they will be on sale on the day!)
NB When booking an adult must FIRST enter their own date of birth to agree to the waiver and then enter the child’s date of birth.
There are spooky prizes for all children who come to our event in fancy dress. It’s the perfect opportunity to get a wear out of the Halloween costume before the day itself. Locally produced pumpkins are also on offer on the day for families to buy.
Pick out a pumpkin and let the children take it home to carve out a spooktacular design.
